School’s Out? Keep Your Cool, Mum!
Easter’s coming up. That means school’s out, kids are home! Don’t panic, it’s going to be okay. We have you covered with our Stress-Less trips for the holidays!
Us mums deal with the invisible load, the mental load, and the laundry list (quite literally) goes on. The overwhelm can easily start to set in if we don’t pause and check our pulse.
We hope our list of top tips for keeping your cool this Easter holiday will make a difference for you:
1. Set Your Schedule
It’s all about planning. Pre-book your childcare if you’ll be balancing work or make sure you have a no-distraction full-focus zone set. Get your holiday or trip plans in order so all you have to do is enjoy the family moments. Balance responsibilities across the household and don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it from friends or family. Your single sister might not mind helping out here and there! And if you need it, set a screen-time limit to encourage exploration and creativity! Or, let go of the rules once or twice, it’s fine.
2. Plan Your Big Adventures
This is a great time to get in those big adventures on your list! Bubs grows up so fast, and how wonderful is it to experience those firsts. Maybe it’s an amusement park, camping trip, family reunion, or mini-holidays nearby. Find your own fit for your family. If it’s not Easter, book in the next family holiday soon. You deserve it!
3. Book Those Playdates
It takes a village to raise a child, as the saying goes. We’ve become more independent family units, relying less on others. Playdates are a great way to share the parenting across our community and expose our kids to new environments and socialization. You take one day, then they take the next. Invest a bit and in return you’ve “earned” yourselves some you-time.
4. Meal Planning & Delivery
We’re plan-aholics. But we also try to be cool when things don’t go as planned. Try being the operative word. Food can also be planned. We love fresh food as much as the next mum, so our strategy is simple. We order/pick up groceries and pre-cook foods that can last a few days early in the week and that we can mix, match, and add on for variety (soup, granola mixs, muffins, sauces, etc). Stock up on frozen fruit for smoothies, fresh veggies, healthy snacks, and a few of your own late-night favorites. And don’t be afraid to order delivery!
5. Cleaning Craze Prevention
Take a bit of pressure off you and your hubs. If you can, get in a deep-clean pre-holiday. Then, while in the thick of it, keep it to a minimal. You don’t have to be perfect, especially if the stress of it takes away from your joy of the moment.
6. Your Daily You-Time
When in go-time, we forget about little old us. If we’re lucky, we have a hubs or a bubs that remind us we deserve to relax and kick back too. Maybe it’s a solo binge of your favorite show and chocolate, or a brunch with your best friends. Do it, no regrets.
7. Boost Your Balance Naturally
Our bodies are at their best when our balance is optimized with good quality sleep, nutrition, exercise, stress management, and natural support like our Helpsies hemp extract oil, designed to kickstart, de-frazzle, or lull you into a restful night, depending on your blend. So basically hemp extract oil is a self-care strategy, which offers a helping hand when you need it most.
Happy Easter!
Here at Helpsies we’re passionate about wellness, positive parenting, and spreading the word about the amazing benefits of hemp extract and how it can help you day to day and especially during the holidays! Enjoy, keep cool, and enjoy your Easter!
